At
the LE BOCAGE inn, you will be greeted in an ancestral home whose
origins date back to 1675. Built by Vincent Riou, a small colonizing
seigneur from Trois-Pistoles, this house has seen nine generations
of his descendants live there. Originally set on the shore of
the river, it was «moved» piece by piece in the early
19th century to the top of the hill to be nearer to the newly
built road (its present location).
With its red pine floor, warm coloured wood trimmings
and ancient furniture, this imposing structure will charm you
with the grace of its age. The
period decor, enhanced by antique pieces, reconstitute the history
of the house; the furniture, the unusual objects and many souvenirs
of past generations are vivid reminders of the past.
The inn has a splendid view of the St-Lawrence
River and the fantastic sunsets that characterise the region.
LE BOCAGE also lets you take in the space and tranquillity of
its orchard, the clean air of its wooded domain. Its quaint rooms,
whose names are inspired by famous naval tragedies, and the generous
breakfasts, will allow you to savour the present in an ambiance
of days gone by.
